People who are found with a mental or cognitive disorder, then the resident would be considered to give an informed consent.
How is the case handled?
If an assaulted person discloses about the assault and it is found to qualify for protection under the above-mentioned Act, then the identity of the victim must be protected by the approved provider.
An approved provider needs to fill up the reportable assault form and send it to the concerned department via email. Proper care planning makes sure that the person does not remain victimized and get necessary assistance as soon as possible.
